Learn to pack your backpack, plan your food, and adjust your boots for  optimal comfort and safety. Introduction to navigation through map and compass work and exploring useful apps and other resources.

Course Description

Attempt to summit Mt. Elbert, the highest peak in Colorado!  Experience the adventures of the Alpine environment with a professional guide.  Be prepared for a long day with incredible views and plenty of fresh air.

Premier Day

Pre-Dawn until the mission is finished.

Rates

$500/1 person, $600/2 people, $250/person for 3+ people

Full Day

9 am – 4 pm

Ski Mountaineering – 1+ days

Take a guided trip or learn how to do this on your own. Accessing peaks over 13,000 via ski/splitboard to ride 4000’+ of challenging lines.

Glacier Travel – 2 Days

Introduction to or review of traveling in roped teams, including knots, group management, communication, and rescue skills.

Navigation – 1 Day

Beginner or advanced skills using topographic map, compass, GPS, and terrain association.

Mountaineering Basics – 3 days

Two days of skill building- one focused on safe, expedient snow/glacier travel and one focused on efficiently moving through rock. Day three is taking the skills into the field for an attempt.

Advanced Mountaineering – 7 Days

Build skills in managing groups on the ice, snow, and rock as well as advanced rescue practice. Course is field-based and includes multiple attempts on local peaks.
