Course Description

Ride a Fourteener!  Take your skis or splitboard down this classic Colorado route.  Expect a long day with 4,000 feet of vertical ascending/descending.  Variable snow conditions and tight trees at times.

Mountaineering Basics – 3 Days

None

Course Description

This course will teach you the skills needed to climb a peak. Day one and two are skill days. On the first day we will work on such skills as traveling as a roped team, walking in crampons, using a mountaineering axe properly, and self-arresting a fall. Day 2 we’ll be focusing more on rock skills. We’ll be working on belaying, basic movement, short-pitching, and rappelling. On day three, we’ll utilize the skills we learned during the 2 previous days and climb a mountaineering route on Mount Arkansas.
