The Rafting Season That Wouldn’t Quit

The Rafting Season That Wouldn’t Quit

Just when we thought we’d seen it all, the Ark Basin pulls another rabbit out of its ever-generous hat with a rafting season that simply won’t quit. Our winter snowpack was ideal, laying the groundwork for an unreal season on the iconic Arkansas River, but we had no idea it’d be this epic.

For months now, we’ve enjoyed stellar rafting and kayaking, and there’s been no shortage of smiles, wide eyes, and surges of elation among our clients. In July, our river guides reported water levels were the best they’d ever seen, and that trend has continued into August. We expect unprecedented flows on the Ark until September 6.

The catalyst for this extraordinary season was the combo of our substantial snowpack and a cold spring leading to slow runoff. Day after day, this sluggish runoff breathes new life into the river, and the fun continues. We’re predicting 700 cubic feet per second through Labor Day. There’s no time like the present, so let’s ride this wild, seemingly never-ending rafting season.

With a little under a month until Labor Day, schedule your invigorating adventure now to experience what will absolutely become a storied rafting season. We offer beginning, intermediate, and advanced rafting trips. Take your pick from technical to family-based trips through the unrelenting splendor of Brown’s Canyon, Buena Vista, and the Upper Arkansas Valley.
