Centrally located in the Arkansas River Valley and set against the Collegiate Peaks Mountain Range, Buena Vista is Colorado’s hub for adventure. What better way to dive deep into that adventure than with RMOC? Equipped with everything ready to take you rafting, climbing, biking, and more, we’ll show you what it’s like to play hard in Colorado’s great outdoors.
If you have three days to visit, let us suggest an itinerary to make the most of your time. From dining and seeing music in Buena Vista, to hitting the river, these three days will not disappoint.
Day 1
Grab breakfast at The Blend, a smoothie and quick bites cafe, then head to RMOC for a full day on the river.
Choose the whitewater rafting level that works best for your group, such as a Full Day Beginner/Intermediate Raft Trip through Browns Canyon or a full day with Numbers Down, a top to bottom run that includes The Numbers and The Fractions sections of the Arkansas River. Lunch is provided on all of RMOC’s full-day rafting trips.
Treat yourself to a delicious and healthy meal at House Rock Kitchen, a fast-casual, from scratch, fun option perfect for the whole family. Outdoor seating offers a wonderfully social and family-friendly environment. On some nights throughout the summer, enjoy live music from the patio and some of your favorite yard games like bocce and horseshoes.
Day 2
Enjoy a sit-down breakfast at Bread + Salt, a classic breakfast place that respects seasonality and the influence of fresh ingredients. With full bellies, head to RMOC for a Half-Day SUP Lake Tour, where you’ll enjoy a relaxing morning paddling around Trout Creek Reservoir with Mount Princeton in the background.
Once this tour ends at 1:30 pm, head back to town and grab a burger from Buena Viking and maybe even a cocktail from neighboring Deerhammer Distillery.
Take the rest of the afternoon to walk along Buena Vista’s bustling Main Street or head to the Arkansas River to walk the river trail.
Finish up the evening with dinner at Wesley and Rose. There’s also a good chance you’ll also catch some live music at the Surf Hotel or at The Lawn in South Main.
Day 3
Have breakfast at the popular Buena Vista Roastery before diving into your final and full day of adventure with RMOC. There are still lots of choices for trips, but on this final day, we encourage you to go big with a Full Day Guided Rock Climbing Trip.
We have access to a variety of locations that offer exceptional guided rock climbing opportunities for all ages and abilities. No experience necessary; our guides can show you the ropes. No matter what kind of trip you are looking for, we can show you a great day on the rocks. Most of all, our guides love to climb, and they look forward to sharing that passion with you!
Celebrate the completion of three big days of adventure with RMOC with dinner at Eddyline Brewing and then catch a movie at the Comanche Drive-In Movie Theater.
